Ladies Championship

Thursday 6th August saw one of the most exciting and memorable finals for many years.  Linda Pica and Sarah Roberts played some amazing bowls during a game of ups and downs.  The excitement grew even more when the score was 20-18 to Linda. There were 2 counting bowls out for Sarah and a measure for third which could have concluded the match BUT it was deemed a no shot so the game continued, peels at 20.  After all the touchers, bowls being nudged out and perfect draws, the last end saw more bowls being moved which, unfortunately for Sarah, left Linda victorious without the need to play her final bowl and win this year’s Championship.  Well done to both players for a most enjoyable afternoon of bowls.
